Hello Family Ski Meisters,

It’s time to start planning for the this year’s ski season!  At our recent club meeting, we’ve decided our first official group trip of 2023 will be to the Killington Ski Resort in VT on the weekend of January 6-8.  Some are extending their stay through Tuesday night to ski during the week.

For those unfamiliar, Killington is the largest ski area in the Eastern U.S. It is also known for having the largest vertical drop in the region – of more than 3,000 feet. Nicknamed  “Beast of the East”, Killington is comprised of six interconnected peaks with 155 trails set over 1,500 acres. The trails range in difficulty – 28% Beginner, 33% Intermediate and 39% Advanced – so there is something for everyone. Additionally for those new to skiing or boarding, or just interested in honing their skills, Killington offers award-winning lesson programs for skiers/ boarders at every skill level.  As a world-class destination for East Coast skiers and riders (and only a 3 1/2 hour drive from our area), Killington is a very popular ski resort, where lodging for the ski season – particularly any that are moderately priced and close to the resort – books up quickly. For this trip – which we hope will interest those eager to try out their new ski equipment acquired over the holidays as well as college students home on winter break – we have been able to secure discounted rates at one of the more moderately priced lodges located on the Killington access road (only 3 miles from Killington resort).  

The Mountain Sports Inn is offering our group three room levels for the January 6-8 weekend at the following discounted rates and call the Inn for the less expensive rights for Sunday – Tuesday nights.

• Premium Room  – $453.42 *
• Standard Room – $413.82 *
• Economy Room – $394.02 *

* Room rates are based on double occupancy and are all inclusive, reflecting a two night stay including breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, room discount and tax. An extra person charge of $10 -$15/person/day may be assessed depending on room capacity.  Addiitonally, please note the cancelation policy for the Inn indicates refunds only for cancelations prior to 7 days; there are no refunds for no shows or early departures.

The property does not hold blocks of rooms so it is first come first serve.

Killington is on the IKON ski pass.  For those that do not have an IKON pass, discounted lift tickets may be purchased online with a discount code (details for how to do this will be provided).  However, if we have a group of at least 20 members requiring lift tickets, rather than have individuals purchase their own tickets online, we will opt to purchase tickets at a more discounted rate through Killington Group Sales.
